Keep login codes on top of your inbox
The Login codes template keeps emails with code, OTP or verification in the subject in your inbox and flags them. It does not move or delete anything.
A rule that protects, rather than moves
Most rules move email out of the way. This one does the opposite. When your other rules move bulk mail out of your inbox, a code email from the same sender could go with it. Login codes matches first, keeps the email where it is and flags it.
Why it uses conditions, not a model
Codes are time-sensitive and their subjects are predictable, so a plain match on the subject is fast and free. The trade-off is that it is a word match: it also catches “barcode” and misses subjects that say “PIN”. If that matters, add words, or rewrite it as an intent rule.
What it catches
- "Your verification code", "OTP for your login", "Your sign-in code".
- Any subject with those words inside another word too, such as "barcode" or "Codecademy".
What it leaves alone
- Codes whose subject uses other words, such as "PIN", "one-time password" or "Confirm it's you".
- Codes that only appear in the body. The template looks at the subject only.
- Any email a higher rule has already settled.
What you can change
- Add words to the subject list, such as "PIN" or "passcode".
- Turn it into an intent rule with wording like "One-time login codes" if subjects vary too much.
- Drag it higher in your list so other rules never move these emails first.
Questions
Does it delete codes after I use them?
No. It keeps the email in your inbox and flags it. MailRules does not delete email.
Does it need an AI model?
No. It is a condition-only rule, so it runs without any model and costs nothing to run.
Why flag it?
A flagged email stands out in most mail apps, so the code is easy to find while you are signing in.
