Bookings from everywhere, in one place

You book with many companies, and each sends confirmations from its own address with its own subject. The Travel template describes what you want, “train, flight and hotel bookings”, and the model decides for each new email. The email stays unread in Travel, so you can see new bookings arrive.

When to change it

The wording is deliberately narrow. If you also want car hire, ferries or concert tickets in the same folder, add them to the sentence. If you travel for work and for yourself, two rules with different folders keep them apart.

01

What it catches

  • Flight, train and hotel booking confirmations.
  • E-tickets and itineraries from airlines, rail companies and booking sites.
  • Bookings from companies you have never used before.
02

What it leaves alone

  • Travel offers and deals. Those are promotions, not bookings.
  • Car hire, ferries or event tickets, unless the model reads them as bookings. Add them to the wording if you want them.
  • Emails the model is not sure about. They wait in Needs review.
03

What you can change

  • Widen it, for example "Train, flight, hotel, car hire and ferry bookings".
  • Add "flag" so upcoming trips stand out in the folder.
  • Change the folder, or make one rule per trip type.

Questions

Does it add bookings to my calendar?

No. It moves the email. MailRules does not read or write calendars.

What if a booking also has a calendar file?

If you use the Calendar invites template too, the rule higher in your list decides first. Drag the rules into the order you prefer.

Does it mark them read?

No. The template only moves them, so new bookings show as unread in Travel.
